What My Clients Say
“Lynn pointed out places I could strengthen within my manuscript while also highlighting what I was doing right already. She broke her suggestions down into manageable pieces, which I greatly appreciated.”
— Author and Writing Coach Allison Wells
Lynn’s line-editing is exceptional. She has a masterful ability to clarify sentence structures and eliminate repetitive statements while perfectly preserving my prose's dark, mythic tone. The final result is a polished, stronger, and more readable narrative. Highly recommended!

About the editor
I am a professional editor with a strong foundation in creative writing and hands-on experience working with fiction manuscripts. I am currently enrolled in the UCLA Extension Editing and Publishing certificate program to deepen my technical expertise and industry knowledge. My approach combines precision and respect for craft with a commitment to preserving each author’s unique voice and helping bring their vision for the story to life.
I understand that editing a manuscript requires not only a strong grasp of literary conventions, but also a collaborative relationship between author and editor. I strive to be your biggest cheerleader, helping polish your story until it shines its brightest. My experience as an educator, bookstore owner, and library assistant has given me a lifelong connection to stories, readers and writers, which informs the way I engage with every manuscript. I read widely across genres, which allows me to understand the nuances needed to successfully engage your target audience.
I work with both traditionally and independently published authors and understand the unique challenges that these authors face. My goal is to provide guidance that helps manuscripts meet professional standards while staying true to each author’s vision. By working collaboratively with clear communication and ongoing support, I aim to make the editing process empowering, encouraging, and fully aligned with your goals.
The Process:
Prospective clients begin by submitting the contact form along with a 1,500-word sample from the manuscript. After the sample is reviewed, a one-on-one consultation is scheduled to discuss the author’s vision, the needs of the project, and expectations for timeline, deposit, and payment options.
Before any work begins, a formal contract is provided outlining the scope of services, project details, timelines, and payment terms. All manuscripts and materials remain fully confidential, and the agreed-upon scope ensures clarity on the exact level of editing and deliverables involved.
Throughout the editing process, regular updates are provided to keep the author informed and aligned as the manuscript develops.
Payment plans are available upon request to help make professional editing services more accessible. Options can be tailored to fit your project and budget, and details are discussed during the initial consultation.
